A Week of Haiku – Week 2

A Week of Haiku – Week 2
I decided to challenge myself to write a haiku a day for the next few months.

Writing a haiku a day challenges me to select a moment, ruminate on it, and attempt to capture its essence in 17 syllables. I’ve found that it has helped me cultivate a posture of reflection and attentiveness—and it is rather fun!

I missed the weekend, but here are this weeks haiku:

Friday, May 21, 2015

Picnic blanket quilt
Upon which the family lays
Clouds morph overhead

Thursday, May 21, 2015

One-thousand red wiggler worms
Turn our scraps to gold

Wednesday, May 20, 2015

Cup of morning bliss
Strong aromatic green tea
Let the day begin #dailyhaiku

Tuesday, May 19, 2015

Plants given by friends
Green and firmly established
Pleased with their new home

Monday, May 18, 2015

Gwyneth waves goodbye
Pushes my bike with laughter
I’ll be home for dinner
